RIASSUNTO
Il piede torto rappresenta una delle patologie congenite più frequenti e difficili da trattare in età pediatrica per la complessità delle alterazioni anatomiche presenti e per la predisposizione naturale a sviluppare, nei primi 5-6 anni di età, una o più recidive (26-52% dei casi).
Negli ultimi anni in tutto il mondo, e recentemente anche in Italia, si è avuta la progressiva scoperta ed affermazione della metodica Ponseti, un originale protocollo di cura “mini-invasivo” caratterizzato da una precisa e standardizzata sequenza di manovre manipolative e correttive e da uno specifico protocollo di prevenzione e cura delle sue recidive.
Questo lavoro intende, alla luce della propria esperienza personale, far conoscere efficacia e limiti del metodica Ponseti nel trattamento del piede torto idiopatico in età pediatrica ritenendo che una miglior conoscenza di questo protocollo in ambito pediatrico non possa che favorire un più attento e serrato monitoraggio del follow-up extra-ospedaliero e ridurre al minimo i limiti intrinseci di questa scelta terapeutica.

ABSTRACT
The idiopathic clubfoot in pediatric age. Efficacy and limits of a ‘minimally invasive” therapeutical choice: Ponseti method
The clubfoot is one of the most frequent and difficult to treat congenital disease in pediatric age due to complexity of the anatomical alteration present and for the natural predisposition to develop, in the first 5-6 years of age, one or more relapses (26-52% of cases).
In recent years throughout the world, and recently also in Italy, there has been the progressive discovery and affirmation of the Ponseti method, an original "minimally invasive" treatment protocol characterized by a precise and standardized sequence of manipulative and corrective maneuvers and by a specific protocol for the prevention and treatment of its relapses.
This work intends, in the light of his personal experience, to make known the efficacy and limits of the Ponseti method in the treatment of idiopathic clubfoot in pediatric age, considering that a better knowledge of this protocol in pediatric can only encourage a more careful and close monitoring of the extra-hospital follow-up and minimize the intrinsic limits of this therapeutic choice.
